There’s only one thing better than Derby day in Edinburgh. Derby day in Edinburgh that falls on New Year’s Day.
Not since 1998 has this happened, but with the fixtures out for next season, Hearts and Hibs have been paired together for a Jan 1 clash.
It used to be a great tradition. Booze, steak pie, more booze, football, more booze, you get the idea.
So here is a heartfelt plea. No changing the match for TV, please. Let the fans enjoy themselves the way it was always meant to be.
